Imagine...
the jiggling, bumping, screaching sounds of the streetcar bustling to its' destination....
Did you know we used to have trolley cars in North Vancouver?
Streetcar service started in 1906 in Lower Lonsdale and eventually made it to Lynn Valley in 1912. They began running from the foot of Lonsdale, east on 3rd St., north on Queensbury and northweast on Lynn Valley (called Pipeline Rd.) ending at Dempsey Rd. It was here that the conductor would boisterously call out "End of the Line" right in front of this very store... hence, the name. To listen to what it would have sounded like...
